National Science Day: A Journey of Curiosity and Innovation
"A very pleasant morning to our respected Principal, esteemed teachers, supportive parents, and my brilliant fellow students! Today, our school is filled with a special energy as we gather to celebrate National Science Day.
Before we dive into the wonders of discovery, let us honor the Indian tradition of seeking light over darkness. I invite our Chief Guest and Principal to lead the lighting of the ceremonial lamp. This light represents the knowledge that science brings to our lives, dispelling the shadows of ignorance.

Now, let us observe a moment of silence for prayer, seeking guidance as we embark on this day of learning and exploration.
(Pause for Prayer)
To set the spirit for the day, here is a short original poem:
A thousand questions asking 'why?'
From the deep blue sea to the stars above,
Science is the language of the truth we love."
"Why do we celebrate today, the 28th of February? This date marks a historic moment in 1928 when the great Indian physicist, Sir Chandrasekhara Venkata Raman, announced his revolutionary discovery—the 'Raman Effect'.
His research on how light scatters when it passes through different materials earned him the Nobel Prize in Physics in 1930. Sir CV Raman was not only the first Indian but also the first Asian to achieve this honor in science. In 1986, the Indian government officially designated this day to inspire every student to follow in his footsteps."
"Science is not confined to the pages of our textbooks or the walls of a laboratory; it is the heartbeat of our daily existence. It is the logic in the computers we use, the satellite signals that connect our phones, and the medicine that keeps us healthy.
Sometimes, science reveals truths that are hard to believe! For example, while we thank trees for the air we breathe, research shows that 50% to 80% of the Earth’s oxygen actually comes from the ocean, produced by tiny marine plants like plankton and algae.
Even the simple act of eating involves science; did you know that your stomach acid is strong enough to dissolve a metal razor blade? From the radioactive potassium in your favorite banana to the magnetic field that helps animals find their way, we are surrounded by scientific miracles."
"India has a glorious history of intellect, from the ancient mathematical wisdom of Aryabhatta and Brahmagupta to our modern-day triumphs in space. Today, we are a global leader, ranking 39th in the Global Innovation Index.
Our nation is pushing frontiers with the National Quantum Mission and the deployment of 33 supercomputers across the country. We are even creating our own AI models like BharatGen to speak our local languages. These achievements prove that when Indian minds dream, the world watches in awe."
"The theme for 2025 is 'Empowering Indian Youth for Global Leadership in Science and Innovation for Viksit Bharat.' This message is for you, my friends. Science is more than just knowing facts; it is a way of thinking. It is about having the courage to ask questions and the patience to find the truth through research.
As you visit our Science Exhibition today, look at the projects not just as models, but as solutions to real-world challenges like pollution and global warming."
Unique Slogans for Today:
- 1. Question the known, to discover the unknown!
- 2. Let curiosity be your compass and science be your path!
"A textbook can give you an answer, but only a curious mind can create a new discovery."
"As we come to the end of our inaugural ceremony, let us carry forward the spirit of inquiry. Sir CV Raman once said that independent thinking and hard work are more important for success than expensive equipment.
I would like to express a sincere Vote of Thanks to our Chief Guest for their enlightening address. Thank you to our Principal and the Science Department for their vision in organizing this event. A huge shout-out to my fellow students who have worked countless hours on their exhibition projects.
Let’s dare to dream and dare to discover. Happy National Science Day to everyone!"
